Taste the Rainbow Socks!

IThese are my first toe up socks! I used Skacel yarn in the Zauberball color way.
I loved knitting them and wearing them is a dream. Best part...they're all mine!!

And finally a weekend!

We had sushi at Sushi.com in downtown Spokane. I think it's the best sushi restaurant in our area...I've had a lot of Japanese and sushi cuisine and frankly...some of the food around here is gross. It was pretty decent though.

We went geocaching together for the first time. We found this little guy in a cache near our house! His name was aptly, "Scabbers".

I made Parmesan zucchini chips. They were so fabulous! :)

Chris is texting his sister. But, he's laughing at me.

Another view of my sock...that is FINISHED by the way. I am now on the second sock!

Good weekend.

I have been struggling with trying to figure out toe up socks. It's mostly the different concept of casting on with that infamous MAGIC LOOP. I found a really good video teaching series by Knit Freedom. I didn't buy the videos...but the few samples were enough to get me through the pattern. However, I think if I were to do it again, I would buy the videos.

What do you think? I can't decide if they are going to be full catholic school girl knee socks...or just nice ankle socks. We'll see. :)

With my Sticks!

One of my co-workers, Nancy is having her first baby girl in May. She is naming her Morgan. Morgan already has 5 brothers! I love that Nancy isn't afraid to have children. Lots of women I meet in the work place seem to have a 'limit'or number in their heads of how many children you 'should' have.
I dislike 'shoulds'.
I found out 2 weeks ago that we are throwing a baby shower for Nancy and Morgan this Friday. So I cast-on my four stitches and away I went! It's a good size so far. In my experience, I used small sized blankets the most with my kiddos. It's not fun hauling around huge big blankies all the time. It 'should' be finished by Friday. I am thinking of adding a bright purple ribbon to the border...like weave it into the edge. Sort of brighten it up and hopefully make it a little more...complex?

This is my next knitting class! I am just about finished with the mitts from my cable class. It was a wonderful class. The teacher was informative and really smart about knitting. So I signed up for another class. The technique this time is beading with your knitting. I'm stoked. And so far...aside from Morgan's blanket...everything I have knitted this year has been for me!! So I'll keep it up! haha!

Cowl crazy

I have been making a ton of cowls this winter. I have only kept two for myself. This is one of them. I can't remember the name. Or the pattern tho!! I'm horrible. But it was knit up so quick, it didn't sink in at all. Sort of like...it didn't give me any grief, so it was easily forgotten. Haha.

I am currently really frustrated with a pair of mitts I cast on. I took a class to get a better grasp of reading cable charts. It's not going well. Lol. Anyway.

-still knitting and baking!
