Week Eight with my Filofax

Here is my week eight in my Malden Personal sized Filofax!
Even if I don't plan anything...or *gasp* don't use my planner every day, I still decorate and will include it in my week. Some days I simply don't have anything to do...or it's nothing SUPER pressing, so I don't need to write stuff down. I could use it as a diary I guess and log my day, but some days I don't feel like it.
I'm still working on my water intake. However, I have read some articles that show that I do get plenty of fluids in the day! I just don't count them simply because they're not water. I do try for that 8 glasses, but I drink other things like tea and coffee and they count as fluids. I'm pretty sure I'm well hydrated by how much I have to pee. LOL.
I liked this day. I had time to think and doodle. And look on the righty hand side there! I color coded!! Go Team Wayword! haha.
I decided this day to start a 5k running program. I officially started yesterday, but having it written down in my planner has kept me accountable to actually starting!
I included in my week, my medication intake. I take my medicine twice a day, and I fill the little needle up half way for the morning doses, and fill it all the way up for the evening! I NEVER forget my medication. Like ever ever. But, I do forget to fill in my little needle showing that I remembered. Have to work on that!
I visited my mom this day. As well as went to the doctor. Nothing extraordinary happened really...Well, stuff DID happen. But nothing that I logged. There are a few medical issues I should probably write down on this day just to remind myself of when those occurred. And maybe subconciously I didn't want to ruin the beauty of the SUPER CUTE CLOUD WASHI TAPE!!! I got it from Joann's and was dying to use it. I did...but then I didn't write in it. Go figure.

I menu planned this day and ran some errands. I played video games, ate food and basically layed around at my house. But, again, nothing that I had to write down. I like that about my planner. Some days it's my right arm and my left brain. Then other days, we chill. We chill because we're like that.
Here is my life mapped out for the day, week and month of February 2014! This is what I love about the DIYFish inserts. So many many many things you can do and record. Okay, until next week!

Using DIYFish inserts!

Self explanatory. But I got on the band wagon and am trying out DIYfish's inserts. They're HEAVEN. I love them! I am working hard to fill the pages. But it's so much better than not having enough space!

Also made my own charm! I love it! ^_^

Peace. Love. Plan Ahead!

All the A5 Lovin'!!

I promised that I would show you my new A5 Fluro Pink Original Filofax!! She's SO beautiful.

Lays flat, right out of the box. The leather is most like a horse saddle leather. My friend who loves horses said it reminded her of a new saddle and new saddle smell. :-)

It took me a while to set up new tabs, I moved from my personal size to A5. So I had to cut new ones. I love the pink theme, so I used rainbowy pink/purple for divider color.

I have Media, Money, Calendar, Food, Journal and Health. I have sub categories since my tab definitions are so broad.

I love Post It's new "Mobile" line!! I want every single piece!! I am finding it's so easy to create a "dashboard" at the front of my Filofax with them! Such a wonderful invention and so easy to adhere to my fly leaf. :-)

And that's all for now. I do plan on breaking down my sections. It's such a big upgrade from a personal! All this room needs more organization it seems.

Peace, Love and Plan Ahead!

Filofax Wallet

I have totally fallen in love with my Filofax. I use it daily...for so many things in my life. I didn't realize how much I counted on my brain to remember what I needed to do, remember, keep track of etc...Believe me..it's ALOT.
So here I have a personal sized Domino Filofax! It's my first of the Filofax brand. I bought it off Amazon for about $39. I confess to having this little planner become my new religion. :) It's been used as my 'main' planner for the last three months. However, Chris bought me a new A5 Fluro Pink Original Filofax for my birthday. So I made myself move into that today...when I made my Domino a WALLET. It was actually really hard for me mentally to leave my personal size. I am not sure what that's about! All I know is...I LOVE my Domino. :)

The Domino does not have as many slots for cards as other Filofax's. But, I generally only use two debit cards, my driver's license and my Snap Fitness key card on a regular basis. I'm using the front side pocket for stamps and my color coding dots.

The 'dashboard'. Gotta keep it pretty right?

More 'dashboard'. And having a photo of my husband and kids reminds me to be careful of my spending. I have a tendency to over spend and need to be careful all the time!

I re-used the dividers! I could not throw these out or make myself make new ones! So I re-labeled one and was able to just use the rest as they were. I have really gotten good use from my Purple Cow laminator. I don't know how I lived without it. Haha!

I bought four packs of business card holders from DayRunner. They hold 9 cards each. They are meant for paper business cards and made a really snug fit for the plastic club cards I have. I have about 9 pages/27 cards in this section.

It's all about the money!

I seldom carry cash actually...but lately I have been contemplating using a cash envelope system. So I might implement more of these zip pockets if I do.

I "plan"on having a section for my bill information. Things like account information and numbers, due dates and balances. I created a financial planner for this sort of thing, but I plan on syncing them so I can have that information with me, should I need to pay bills or talking to a creditor.

More inspiration! Here is a register for my checkbook and debit cards. I haven't been very good at using these in the past. However, it's my new resolution to keep up a register.

Lastly I made a holder for my checkbook. I slide my checkbook into the little purple pocket so I don't have to carry the bank book along with me. Saves a bit of space in my Filofax.

I think I still need a bigger pocket for receipts. And I really want a coupon section! I am just not sure what I could reasonably take out without having to have a second wallet. My whole purpose is to only carry my Filofax as a wallet. I'll let you know how it turns out.

And soon! I'll share my set up in my new Fluro Pink!

Peace, Love and Plan Ahead!

This girl is on fire!

This week's menu! I went ahead and divided my pages into lunch/dinner and I decorated my shopping list sheet as well! It's sort of a 'cheat' week as I am making more prepared/frozen foods than I normally do. It's partly because I have a really hectic schedule with work and it's partly because I am trying to cut back on our expenses as far as food goes. We don't spend very much on food compared to most families I'm guessing? We don't have our kids two of the seven days in the week, so that helps with costs. But, we're headed into the winter months and for us...the most expensive part of our year. It's birthdays and holidays, so I am trying to buffer as much as possible ahead of time!

I had my planner opened up at the store and a lady stopped and said, "Oh my! What a gorgeous way to do your grocery shopping! You're so organized!" I immediately puffed up with pride and pointed at my Filofax and I was like..."it's my Filofax!" as if I'm saying, "It's my spinach! I'm Popeye the Sailor Man!" haha.

On top of that, I still have to decorate my week...and I'm excited for that because it's my FIRST real decorate week ON Filofax inserts! (Not the homemade ones I have been using.) I am planning on looking around for more printables...I just haven't gotten around to it. Guess I should plan that out using my Domino! Yeah Buddy!

Anyway, my life is becoming seemingly less stressful. I know what is coming up and I am getting better at planning what needs to be done and not over doing it by saying 'yes' to things I do not have time for. This girl is totally on fire this week. :)

Goodbye world, Hello Kitty!

So I haven't liked Hello Kitty since I was like 7 years old. But, I LOVE the color pink. It's been my favorite color since I was like two years old(before it was so popular). And it's kind of cutesy wootsy, but I thought I would give it a go and make my week pink and kitty cat like.

I am trying to color code with pens verses washi tape. I used one week of washi color coding...and it seemed like I was taping miles of my schedule.
Pens seem a more efficient way to code for me.

I'm not done scheduling my week, I have a few more appointments and dates to add, but I know this schedule is something I can share, so here it is!

This week on:

My lunch/dinner menu for the week. When I make my layout for next week I'll divide the page in half as I always like to keep both lunch and dinner menus on the same page for a quick look.
The top is dinner. (Monday and Wednesdays are always a hot sandwich night due to late football, soccer and XCountry practices!)

The bottom is bento for the week. I always eat what they eat, so I plan what I would like to eat, not just what I think they'll eat. Jolie is such a picky eater. I have a hard time getting her to eat anything...but it's a work in progress! I will cater to what fruits and veggies they like, they all love cucumber, but only two like carrots. Only one of them likes strawberries! And everyone loves anything chicken or deli meat in their bento!
It's true that making bento for your kids means you love them...because its time consuming. However I like knowing what they're eating and I enjoy the fact that they get a surprise almost every day.

Call me chicken!

You can just call me a chicken with it's head cut off. I am literally spinning with all the stuff I have to do. It's been said that I thrive on stress, pressure, deadlines and looming impending doom...and that is probably a true statement!

Last week didn't go so well. I literally just went by the seat of my pants. I had some of my week planned out as far as schedules go, but I hadn't really worked out a good system for any of the things I needed to remember to do. So a few things fell by the wayside.

My mind cannot stop thinking about buying myself a real Filofax. It's such a great cost! And my brain cannot fathom buying a book (abeit an AMAZING book) for $100ish smackaroos! But, I want one so bad. So SO bad. But, I love planning and writing my schedule down. It's like I'm carrying all these words and reminders around in my head and I need to let it all out in one spot. My phone simply doesn't cut the mustard. It's difficult for me to text everything in that I need to. I get distracted the moment I turn it on and forget what I was scheduling!

So I did what any person in their right mind would do. I ordered a basic Domino Filofax! It's not real leather, but it has the elements that I'm wanting to get started. The price was not much more than I paid for my day timer. Part of me realizes that I am buying a name, but so many people love this product that I must see what the hype is for myself. Of course, I went the inexpensive route too; in part because I want to make sure I am staying on board with my obsessive planning, as well as giving Filofax a chance to win me over. (Who am I kidding?!)

I ordered from Goldspot.com at the recommendation of the Filofaxtory. (Not linked because I'm on my phone!)
The waiting is going to kill me I know it. :)
Anyway, not to sound like a broken record, but I have things to do and places to be! So I'll be out now! Have a killer day.

Staying Organized

Even if its just my thoughts, I have been working on my planner and keeping my schedule down on paper.

It's already proven really helpful, but it does take time to make it a habit!

The fun dividers I created for each section makes me want to use it and schedule the heck out of everything!

I used ordinary scrapbook paper to make the dividers and some Tim Holtz's Idea-ology to make some vintage looking tabs. I love anything vintage, so I'm giving my dividers that 'look'.
Most of my pages are normal calendar type pages with highlighting etc...but I do like the vintage look for the 'main' pages.

So far I have my calendar section, my week on 2 pages, movies, books, journal, and menu/recipes all in sections. It's working so far, but I definitely will be tweaking these as time goes by!
