It's Christmas!!

I love Christmas. It is my favorite holiday of all time. I love the gifts. The tree. The traditions. All of it!

I made this year's Advent Calendar a little different. I usually put lots of candy and gifts into each day. This year I made tags with activities on them. So far, it's going over well!

I had tiny Christmas clothespins to clip each sack to a burlap ribbon attached to my picture frame.

After we have done the activity for the day, we can flip the tag and see the Christmas festivity on the back!

So that's that!

I like the idea of doing something together versus just giving a gift. Though I have included activities like baking cookies and going out for ice cream treats! :-)

Trees, ribbon and turtle doves!

More planning crap!

I have an obsessive personality. The tendency to run amuck and overboard with everything pulses through my veins! Here is my "post it" dashboard. You will note that I have no regular size post its that I use for my post it quote of the day. I usually have those on hand at work so I don't normally carry them with me in my Domino. I found the leaf and the thought thinkie bubble from Wal-Mart. They are the Wal-Mart brand and surprisingly sticky!! They're great so far. I have noticed a few here are there that will leave some glue residue on the page underneath, but nothing really bad and it's only every few pages. The iPhone post it I found at Wal-Mart too...not sure what brand they are though!

Here is my week. I started to fill the whole thing out, but realized I end up blurring/hiding those with my photo editor. So I stopped and just took a photo of it before it was filled in with my 'to do'. Speaking of that! I really want this stamp. It has everything I want on my week on two pages!! I love using rubber stamps...it's so much better than my doodles and handwriting. This week I did less stickers, more washi tape. Which I realize as a Filofaxer...is like a drug. You flash that washi and the Philofaxers come running! Holy cow. I love the different angles and patterns I see on people's week. I feel like I should have a pattern book of different ways to washi!
My skull washi looks sort of weird by itself. You can't quite see the sugar skull flowery details, so it's hard to make it cheerful. (I like cheerful as I'm usually quite the grumpy pants.)

My goal this week is to clean out one of our spare rooms to use as a craft/knit/filofax room!! YAY!! Hopefully I'll find the time/energy to get it done!
Here's to a fantastic week!!

Goodbye world, Hello Kitty!

So I haven't liked Hello Kitty since I was like 7 years old. But, I LOVE the color pink. It's been my favorite color since I was like two years old(before it was so popular). And it's kind of cutesy wootsy, but I thought I would give it a go and make my week pink and kitty cat like.

I am trying to color code with pens verses washi tape. I used one week of washi color coding...and it seemed like I was taping miles of my schedule.
Pens seem a more efficient way to code for me.

I'm not done scheduling my week, I have a few more appointments and dates to add, but I know this schedule is something I can share, so here it is!

Staying Organized

Even if its just my thoughts, I have been working on my planner and keeping my schedule down on paper.

It's already proven really helpful, but it does take time to make it a habit!

The fun dividers I created for each section makes me want to use it and schedule the heck out of everything!

I used ordinary scrapbook paper to make the dividers and some Tim Holtz's Idea-ology to make some vintage looking tabs. I love anything vintage, so I'm giving my dividers that 'look'.
Most of my pages are normal calendar type pages with highlighting etc...but I do like the vintage look for the 'main' pages.

So far I have my calendar section, my week on 2 pages, movies, books, journal, and menu/recipes all in sections. It's working so far, but I definitely will be tweaking these as time goes by!

Obsessions!

I have become obsessed with Filofax!! I dug up my old planner. (think Day Timer) and I have been sorting and organizing my schedule.

It's led to me making my own dividers and obsessing about my "plans".

Even if its kind of weird...it's been a lot of stress off my mind. I like writing things down and I like having all my thoughts and appointments in one book.

It's a work in progress. You'll see more of that later!!
