Listies

  • I can't think of any good resolutions other than the old ones that I've made, but haven't kept.
  • Recovering from a really bad flu. It was a good flu in that I lost 6lbs. I know about 4lbs of that is probably water, but hey! That is good news. hehe
  • Watching movies/tv shows have kept me occupied while I've been sick. However, I only pay really close attention when they show a binder or a planner. Then I pause and (zoom in if it's Netflix) contemplate what planner brand it is. It caught my eye that Robin from "Sister Wives" uses a Kate Spade!
  • I think if I keep any resolutions this year they will be the ones that involve documenting my year, yarn, weight loss and planning/organizing. Those seem to be the most important.

Drum roll please!

The bread is done. I didn't take photos of my having to turn the bread or what it looked like doubled in size or freshly rolled into the Dutch oven.
But here it is, mid-bake, sort of at the point where it's getting set to brown.
Here it is just out of the oven.

Here it is cooling on the counter. I give it bonus points for making the house smell SO wonderful!!
Overall, I will definitely be making this recipe again. It was EASY PEASEY CHICKEN SQUEEZY. The amount of time and effort that it took from start to finish makes this a good recipe for me during the week. It's a homemade bread that says "I care", but without all the extra fuss that goes into making a complicated dish. The best part about the recipe is that it utilizes my Dutch oven. I enjoy the good food that it makes, but I really enjoy all the different foods that I get from it. This recipe has shown me that cooking from my Dutch oven can be really easy. So overall...4 out of 5 stars!! ****

Here is the link to the bread recipe if you want to try it...No Knead Bread Recipe

Make a bread, make a little love!

I am constantly expanding my recipe box! Adding to my box this week is homemade bread.

As a working mom, I always have to think about how much time I am investing into any given thing. So I found this recipe off The Kitchn. It's quick and a sort of 'set it and forget it' recipe. I'll try anything once...so here we go! So far, we just made the basic dough, and I have covered it and set it up in a warm dry place to rise for another 6-8 hours. As a working momma...this 6-8 hours to go off and do something else...priceless! I'll be back in several hours to lay it out and bake.
